Location: Latitude N:40.07069
Longitude W: 119.71931
Elevation: 4549 ft.
Virginia Range; Washoe County, NV
Equipment: 1). A YSI 6920 multiparameter WQ monitoring instrument is used to record temperature, specific conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, salinity, tds, and turbidity during the sampling event.
2). A 18"x12" kicknet, 500 micron mesh, is used to collect benthic macroinvertebrates at 3 sites.
3). A densiometer is used to obtain an estimate of canopy cover (%) along the 150 meter reach.
Period of Record: 2002, 2004 to present

Physical Habitat & Bioassessment monitoring began in 2002 within the Thunderboldt Canyon watershed. Physical Habitat & Bioassessments are conducted annually during the month of April or May, depending on flows. Physical Habitat assessments are conducted within a 150 meter reach of the river.
