Location: Latitude N: 39.66806
Longitude W: 119.27055
Elevation: 4025 ft.
Washoe County, NV, Near Hill Ranch Rd., Wadsworth, NV 89442
Monthly water samples and in-situ stream measurements are taken when site is accessable.
Equipment: A YSI 6920 multiparameter water quality sonde is used to obtain temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, salinity, tds, and turbidity.
Period of Record: 2000 to present.

In the early 1980's, the Bureau of Indian Affairs installed tile drains to lower the water table to allow more fields to come into (alfalfa) production in the lower Wadsworth area. These soils are high in pH, alkalinity, and other minerals. As a result, the 'drain' water is higher in TDS, specific conductivity, and nitrogen than that of the Truckee River. The PLPT monitors the water quality of these drains before flowing into the Truckee River.
