Lower Truckee River (LTR) Water Quality (WQ) Monitoring
WQ monitoring is conducted monthly on 5 sites on the lower Truckee River
(Pierson Dam, Wadsworth Bridge, Dead Ox, Nixon Bridge, Marble Bluff Dam),
and 4 nonpoint source sites (Paiute Pit Outlet, Tile Drain Outlet, and
Herman Ditch + Numana Wetland outlets when flowing) near the Lower Truckee River.
A YSI sonde (model 6920) to record water temperature, Ph, TDS,
salinity, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen at the time of sampling.
Water samples are also collected, filtered and preserved at the PLPT’s
WQ Laboratory in Sutcliffe, NV. Water analyses are conducted for
Nitrates + Nitrites, Total Ammonia, Total Phosphorus, and
Dissolve Reactive Phosphate at the Tribe’s WQ lab.
